- “You had seen this as well, hadn’t you?”

She was nodding. She was so desperate to break her embarrassing silence and find some answer to the very obvious question that everyone - including our expert social worker - in the courtroom knew was coming.

- “In your report, you emphasised that the father never read the kids. So would you rephrase this part of your report in light of this photo that you are seeing now and you had seen before?”

- “Maybe once you did.”

- “Thank you, Ms Hopkins. No further questions.”
